June 11th, 18th, and 25th
Top Speed Running University’s "Educated Runner" series consists of three Saturday morning sessions. Runners can participate in all three classes, or choose just one or two. Each session will include:
- An interactive lecture/presentation on the topic of the day
- Warm-up and stretching
- Coached running drills
- Coached workout pertaining to the topic of the day
- Personalized feedback from coaches
$50 per session, or $125 for all three sessions

Session 1 – Running Form Intensive
Saturday, June 11th, 7:00-9:30am
Session 1 of our “Educated Runner” series will teach proper running biomechanics, from the ground up! Running with good form can make you more efficient and faster in addition to helping prevent injuries. EVERY runner, beginning or advanced, will benefit from learning proper running mechanics! Learn what your PE teacher never taught you!
- In depth discussion and demonstration of good running form and how to achieve it
- Running drills to improve form – emphasis on learning how to do drills properly
- Stride frequency workout – learn to achieve ideal stride frequency
Session 2 – Running Physiology
Saturday, June 18th, 7:00-9:30am
Session 2 of our “Educated Runner” series focuses on running physiology – the science behind running! Our focus will be on the types of training that benefit marathoners and half-marathoners. Learn about the different types of workouts, why and when to do each type of workout, and designing an effective training program that is personalized to you.
- Learn about the physiology behind your training!
- Discussion of different types of workouts, with an emphasis on those best suited for marathon/half-marathon training
- Basics of mileage progression – how to improve and increase your running safely over time
- Lactic Threshold workout
Session 3 – On the Run Nutrition and Hydration
Saturday, June 25th, 7:00-9:30am
Session 3 of our “Educated Runner” series will focus on proper nutrition and hydration while running. Ever wonder when and why you should be eating GU, drinking sports drinks, or loading up with protein? We’ll teach you how to fuel yourself for optimal performance in a marathon or half-marathon.
- Learn nutrition and hydration strategies for ideal marathon/half-marathon performance
- Marathon Pace workout with water station – practice drinking from aid station cups and eating on the run!
- Hill running form
